    Winter suites.......

I had the same thought, but my current level of pedantry is not yet high enough to post it :p:D As someone who is currently looking for a comfortable chair for long sessions, the idea of having a three-piece suite on the bank seems very appealing :D It would also fit nicely into Clive...

    new member signing in!

Welcome, Jack! Hope you enjoy it here. The Teme is definately beautiful, though if you are driving all that way, the Wye and the Severn have the advantage in that you can also catch barbel ;):D

    which bib n brace?

Conrad, Nikwax do a range of products for exactly that. I wash my gear in Nikwax TechWash, a non-detergent washing liquid, but just to make sure I wash it again in Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In Proofing as well (both here). You have to dry it thoroughly in a tumble drier for best results though. My...

    Fishing Pocket DAB Radio recommendation

I have one of these, excellent radio, though I find it a little bigger and heavier that I would have liked for fishing. The Pure Move is smaller and lighter but at the time there seemed to be doubts over the reliability of them which is why I went for the Roberts.

    Wanted: Korum Deluxe chair

I'm looking for a Korum Deluxe accessory chair (not the standard one or the lightweight one). I don't mind if it's dirty or even a bit tatty as long as it's still works okay and is comfy. I'm in Wolverhampton.

Any recommendations for riverside camping sites with fishing?

Marc, I haven't stayed at that site, but I know where it is and it's a seriously beautiful part of the world. I had a brief look at that stretch of the river last time I was down there, and it did look fairly shallow and weeded, so it would probably be a matter of finding the right spot and I'd...

    Do you smoke?

I gave up about 12 years ago. Rarely miss it, but... ... it's at that point after setting up, especially if I'm fishing mulitiple rods with bivvy etc (not for barbel!), and I've spend time setting up pods, baiting up, tying rigs, casting, and everything else that goes along with it, then I...

Any recommendations for riverside camping sites with fishing?

On the occasions I've fished it in recent weeks, they've been feeding well in the evenings and into dark, if Marc is able to fish then.

    What makes barbel so special???

Not everybody's cup of tea, but for me it's the floodwater fishing that lifts the barbel to another level. Everytime I turn up to the River Severn on one of those rare days when it's 10 foot up and a mighty swirling torrent of power and rage, I gaze at it and think surely it must be impossible...

    Otter PR machine in overdrive

I'm wary of getting involved in a thread that I don't know enough about. But here goes anyway... I thought it worthwhile reposting this, which came from brief report I did of this year's Barbel Show: "Nick Giles (Conservationist and author of The Nature of Barbel) did a talk on the 'O' word...
