Sounds like it could be the Colne, a stretch that Bath road piscatorial club have controlled up until now. Fished it back in the late 90's and it threw reported fish up to 13lb then, i believe they go some what bigger these days. Parking was always a problem with vehicles being broken into then...
Cheers guy's, Had a great week mid October, jumping between the lower Severn and Warks Avon. Had 57 barbel in the week, compared to 15 from my local Hant's Avon all season. Its good to catch a few fish now and then:)
Best day on Wark's Avon was 11 and had 18 one day from Severn.

I would never bother with any fishing manufacturers clothing. IMO buy your clothing from a good outdoor clothing place like cotswolds. I have a Berghaus gortex jacket and trousers, had it for 4 years now and cannot fault it. Not cheap but top quality that will last and keep you dry and warm...
You gone quite Tony R. Believe it mate, where you onced loved to come down and fish there are more otters than fish, the Avon much the same. They will soon move from the rivers and decimate the lakes as well when stocks run out. Only yesterday the carcass of a 20lb plus 'ottered' carp was found...
