Hi guys, just back from a trip to Wales.
Looks like a reasonable turnout, maybe about 15-20.
I will phone Stuart on Monday for an update on the river conditions. I hope it won't be like the Wye today; almost bank high and chocolate coloured!
Shame you can't make it Shippo, maybe...
Just an update for you. I have spoken to Stuart the river keeper, he has been into the Bull at Downton. For anyone that want's to pop into the pub after the fishing, they will do a main meal for £4.95 and anyone who wants B&B they will do it for £25.
It's fishing quite well at the moment...
Thanks for the comments gents. I have had a bit of a result. Having gone through the garage, I have just found my float tubes with floats. They must have fallen out of a bag when they grabbed everything. They also missed my Daiwa float rod and I had a centrepin in the boot of the car along...
Andy yes you can just turn up on the day but I would like an idea of how many to expect, so I can inform Stuart the river keeper.
Good advice David, if the conditions are right.
Chris, yes you can certainly join us. I think there would be no fly fishing tbh.
Clive and Ian, thanks for that. I have found a few spares luckily, so should be OK for trotting. I've got no floats though......
Thanks for your support and I'll PM you a list Clive, once I've sorted...
Yes Cliff, so please do join us.
Mind you I have had my fishing gear nicked out of my garage overnight. The shisters took just about everything. Hoping I may be covered on the works insurance, if not I'm snookered! :-(
Difficult to say Keith to be honest. My original calculations based on those that showed an interest were about 25 but some are unable to make it and other haven't confirmed. I reckon we'll end up with about 15 or so.
That's a cracking deal Shippo. I bought ones of these a while back from someone and use it for the bait droppers and fishing big feeders on the Trent and Wye. Nice rod.
Nice one Keith, look forward to seeing you there.
There'll be plenty of tea and coffee or a drop of the hard stuff to warm the old cockles!
I hope we can get a good turn out. There will be a few regulars present who may offer a bit of advice to any newbies.
