    Tench Tincas

Managed this one on the float Wednesday-7lb 8oz. Although full of spawn, she wasn't shedding any (if she had I would have returned the fish immediately) and went back very strongly. My biggest tench on the float.

    rod tip hi or low?

As low as possible. For me flow and distance dictate how low. Unless I'm fishing upstream that is.

    Venue Required

Hi, I am looking for a venue in either Mid/North Hampshire or Berkshire to hold a regional talk during an evening (date unknown at this stage). It needs to be able to hold approximately 50 or so people, have drinking facilities, toilets and reasonable parking. Ideally a function room in a...

    tentative bites:what's going on-help!

Howard, if you get the chance get a copy of Len Arbery's excellent new book. He discusses in depth the 'small bite' phenomenon and goes on to explain that they often do not result in a 3 foot twitch. Its a very informative read.

Kicked out for catching too many!

There certainly is a legal need. They will have a constitution, rules and a disciplinary procedure. If they haven't followed it and the guy hasn't contravened any of said rules, then I'm inclined to say they could be in trouble, if he chooses to do something about it.

Kicked out for catching too many!

I think the club needs to be careful. Basically they are discriminating against him. If that happened at my golf club (and something similar has) they would be taken to the cleaners. You can't just kick people out of a club because he's better than everyone else. What a load of old tosh.

    Record price of petrol/diesel

I try and maximise my trips away. I fish the Kennet a lot and its a 180 mile round trip. In the summer either 2 or 3 of us share and we go up on Tuesday afternoon and come back Wednesday night. This helps to keep the cost down and make it worthwhile. We camp out on the Tuesday night which...

    The answer to crayfish.

They need to come out of very clean water to be edible. Often once caught they are kept in cages in fresh water to flush them out prior to selling.

    A HUGE and REAL Problem

Oh you petulant little child you. Paul I gave up this type of childish pettifoggery in the playground, what a shame you never moved on old boy.

    A HUGE and REAL Problem

Oh lighten up Paul for God's sake. Stop taking yourself so seriously. I was being a bit whimsical. Jeez.

Where else would you possibly get an audience Paul?

    A HUGE and REAL Problem

And which one would you be Paul? Big, strong Charlton Heston or the frail and ready to accept his fate Edward G Robinson? Good film though.

Cough, cough, splutter, splutter..... At least Stuart was there to lend a hand and offer advice. Sadly we were delayed. Didn't arrive until 8. My humble apologies to all concerned. Still we had a good day. Some did pretty good. Graham did well with the chub and a nice roach but sadly...
