Managed this one on the float Wednesday-7lb 8oz. Although full of spawn, she wasn't shedding any (if she had I would have returned the fish immediately) and went back very strongly. My biggest tench on the float.

Howard, if you get the chance get a copy of Len Arbery's excellent new book. He discusses in depth the 'small bite' phenomenon and goes on to explain that they often do not result in a 3 foot twitch. Its a very informative read.
There certainly is a legal need. They will have a constitution, rules and a disciplinary procedure. If they haven't followed it and the guy hasn't contravened any of said rules, then I'm inclined to say they could be in trouble, if he chooses to do something about it.
I think the club needs to be careful. Basically they are discriminating against him. If that happened at my golf club (and something similar has) they would be taken to the cleaners. You can't just kick people out of a club because he's better than everyone else. What a load of old tosh.
I try and maximise my trips away. I fish the Kennet a lot and its a 180 mile round trip. In the summer either 2 or 3 of us share and we go up on Tuesday afternoon and come back Wednesday night. This helps to keep the cost down and make it worthwhile. We camp out on the Tuesday night which...
