Ray, apparently the lower Stour at Meridians has been flattened, not a tree left by all accounts. I haven't seen it myself but read it elsewhere today.

I can't blame anyone for fishing for them Neil because some are just oblivious to the long term implications. It's really down to the committee/club to implement some rules rather than expect anglers to apply common sense. We don't all have much common sense :)

I believe the stretch you refer to is still under a syndicate to a handful of anglers. Its called Crookham manor or certainly used to be. I know a few of the members.
