    Near record barbel

2 guesses from me for what its worth, Berkshires Loddon, a grueller of a stretch but a chance and the Sussex Rother a few real suprises possible from both. For me nah, give me the Hant's Avon anyday, 13's, 14's' 15's, chance of a 16 from a few stretches and a 17 never to be written off. :-) Just...

    NEW Front Page Kennet Barbel

Not the same fish. Someone I know had the fish last autumn at 16.12. Its been present on stretch for many years and is more easily identified by its red colour as well as tail damage. Well done Roman!

    Which to join...Ringwood or Christchurch?

No day tickets on Severals Peter. I'm fortunate to belong to both and wouldn't want to choose only one at the others expense.

The End of an Era in Christchurch

Very sad to hear Nigel. I've spent many an evening in there whilst staying at Joe and Tina's old place, Royalty view guest house before moving down in 2002. I am sure this pub will be sadly missed by many. I hope that it re opens soon. Good luck to Don. Regards John.

    Anything better than skee-tex boots?

Have tried 3 different pair of muck boots, the best being Taysport. They are certainly easier to walk in then skeetex but IMO, nowhere near as warm. Muck boots may be good for wandering or if you dont suffer with as bad a circulaition as I do :-(

Andy, I think you will find that the fish you have down from the Mole is actually from the Warks Avon. The guy's name is Mark Mole. :D My vote is for the Thames fish of 14.8. Love the top and Luke's smile say's he is a happy bunny. Well done to all though.

    Speedia Centrepin

Hi Gareth, I am sure Gary Mills will do a sound job but a little more local to you is Ringwood tackle. Drop it into Rich and ask him if he would pass it onto John Baldwin. Johns a local old boy who is a 'wizzz centre pin engineer' He will sort it for you. Regards John.

    Hook Sharpening??

Throw them away Shaun. Why risk the loss of a good fish for the sake of a hook that would probably cost 40 pence. I always check the point of the hook EVERY cast on the fingernail. If it dont dig in replace it. Not worth it in my opinion. :)

    Rolling pellets

I am not so sure that ALL these replies were welcome Chris, but hopefully most have been helpful. Why the F%$* do we often get the back biting, snidey comments to put others down when a guy just happens to ask a simple question. Talk about jump on the bandwagon, gate crash someones genuine...
