Good luck finding a Plowman 507, I have not seen one for sale in years.

I still use the old Abu 501 and 506 reels for longer casting on the River. Best to only put 50 metres of line on the spool.

The areas i come across are more sandy feeling than silt and as long as near cover seems ok to fish. Although mostly Chub for me this year tbh!

Mine are the black MK2 version so no problem with the mechanism. Have rosewood and the original black handles.

Possibly a bit sweeping, but i have not known anyone to buy Mainline Bait. Most Carp anglers I have encountered over the years quietly working and spending their valuable free time fishing have mostly put their trust in quality baits such as Nutrabaits Trigga or BFM when Bill ran the company...

Mainline baits have only ever appealed to the Korda fan boys. Never met a Carp angler who knew what they were doing who used Mainline.

For rucksacks I use ex British Army Bergen for Carp Fishing and an ex British Army Day Pack for Barbel Fishing. Both will be still be going strong long after I retire from fishing.

Thanks for the advice, Keith is not making them at the moment, it is the carbon fibre one he made I am after. I think he’s concentrating on his Totti titanium range at present.
