Mark, if I were you I would be bringing this to the attention of everybody that you can think to. Especially local TV, local radio phone ins, local paper, local MP etc
Chris if you want a top class digital camera with flip round screen, carry bag, I have a Canon G6 you can have for £80.

1.75 is my favourite although I favour a 2lb more and more due to the areas that I fish. I've also just purchased a 2.25 Chimera for the winter floods.
If the bank space permits I most enjoy using the 1.75
I picked up one of these previously on ebay. Brand new, unused for £160.
I dont think its a particularly "in demand" rod but I like them. My bid was above £160 but rejected and I won't pay the asking price.
