Hi all, Just for info attached image L-R Wide Gape X, KKH, Target Speci. All size 10. Think I will be using the Wide gape x which looks very strong.

Thanks Jim, strong hook but not got the beak point. Used them in the past but on the Hants Avon/Dorset Stour found they needed replacing continually due to the gravel, "dinking" the point.

As we are on the subject, had a simply lovely day roving for chub on the Hants Avon. Sunny all day with temps up around 24 degs. Cattle, horses, swans, little Egret, swifts, peregrine, a duck. Felt privileged to be sharing the river and meadows with them all.

I would opt for boilies. You won't get any trouble from the trout with them.

I think Bittern can turn up anywhere too. I agree that they are localised but the point I am making is that they are out there but you may never have seen one. I was lucky enough to see a Bittern on the Hants Avon at Ellingham circa 2002. Never seen one since.

Do you believe in Bittern? How many have actually seen one?
