    Fluorocarbon hooklengths.

I have found these quite useful, there's no chance of damaging your fluoro on these. http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/store/carp/terminal-tackle/swivels-and-links/kevin-nash/nash-quick-change-rig-swivel Paul

Try half a lob on the shank of a size 6 and a whole lob through the saddle; as mentioned the scent is a killer for many fish as it releases lots of amino acids. atb Paul

Yep, cracking well deserved fish. Bill, possibly an older fish, as the stripes do wane when they get on a bit. The 6lb fish from the cotswold water park last year, was pale and that pit is as clear as they come. Paul

    Perch

Chris, You could try slacking off when quivertipping, which is what i do when the perch are being very cautious. I usually watch the line moving and hit the bites then before the line tightens to the quivertip; the bites are usually more confident and easier to hit due to lack of resistance...

    Fox Stratos FS 7000 reels

Richard, Had my 2 FS7000s since they came out and they are still fine. I broke one of the handles due to heavy handedness, but they are real work horses. I use them for heavy duty flood/lead work as the gears make easy work of casting and retreiving big 7oz feeders. Paul

Pole set up for perch Hi all, Can anyone recommend a pole set up for perch. Nothing too expensive at this stage and not an over bearing carp pole, which seem to be the rage. The Maver Blue Vega looks okay, I suppose something in the 9.5m to 11m range. Any advise in this area, greatly...

Adrian, You could try "Perch, Contemporary Days and Ways," by John Bailey and Roger Miller. Its a bit dated, but still an enjoyable read. "The Book of Perch," by the Perchfishers is available on Amazon for £149.99, if you are loaded, have the inclination or a forgiving wife or bank...

Anyone been catching? After being ill all over xmas and well into january i was pleased to be able to get back on the banks of a local pond a few weeks ago. Nothing big to report, but have managed a couple of 2s to the usual lobs and sprayed reds, along with a dozen or so over a 1lb. Have...
