    Gudgeon rod

Thinking about it I bought a 'Shaky Concept bomb rod when they had a clear out last spring. It would probably do a fine job. I have at my disposal a wonderful 'gonk stretch on the Warks Avon that is crammed full of them, It was one a chuck with a match rod fished stick float single maggot...

    MYTHE LAKE and Uckinghall

Another way in is down steep lane adjacent Garden Centre but only safe when dry due to steepness. Then over field along riverside to other end of pool from the popular route. You only have one gate at bottom of lane to open.

    Touch legering and rolling baits

Whilst I understand the popularity of rolling meat given the Ray Walton's excellent mastering of the technique I do wonder if it is any better than using a big chubber float tripping the bottom? It would be better bite detection rather than the 'if it stops strike' rule, and would give easier...

Indigenous Species in southern rivers - barbel

I have spoken with local old boys who recall thousands of Barbel that used to be visible at the confluence to the Teme around Powick. Given all the barriers they had to negotiate downstream that was remarkable. But all the talk and effort is around the Shad demise, but you would think that this...

Indigenous Species in southern rivers - barbel

An aside, the Severn was stocked with Barbel in the 50's an initiative from the Angling Times, this stocking alone brought Barbel to many other rivers.

    Beavers, again.

Alas we have had no Govt who have any idea at all about the countryside and the issues wildlife face on a day to day survival task. The latest offering from the 'Labours' offers a bleak picture with their plans to concrete over everything...I mean who in that lot could you consider a friend of...

New member going on an adventure to the river Severn.

No as far as I know, the times I fished there has been just me and the ducks 🙂 You might want to check out 'Setting out for Big Chub Warks Avon' you tube, that is a BAA fishery with parking behind in the clip. But it gives you a feel for the river. Also John Arthur's latest you tube offering for...
