I was thinking the same the other day as I'd like to take my lad this year (& I've not been to one for over 10 years)
I had a look at the BS website and there's been no news updates or anything else for a considerable amount of time.
I did notice they didn't announce last year's until well...
The only hooks I've used for barbel fishing in the last 12 years or so are Gardner covert Talon Tips in sizes 12 down to 2.
I've tried all the other Gardner hooks on numerous occasions plus a number of other brands and none come close for me.
They are strong, sharp and do exactly what they...
Evening Gents,
Not barbel fishing but this is the set up I use when roving the Wye pike fishing.
I'll walk upwards of 6 miles in a day with no trouble.
2 made up rods, 2 bank sticks and landing net handle strapped together.
Rucksack with all I need for a days fishing. Bait, scales, weigh...
Hi Gavin,
I've fished Fumay a few years ago mate. I went for carp when Ade Kiddell had his place but all I caught was loads of barbel 😂 Went with my dad and he had plenty aswell.
I ended up knocking the carp fishing on the head and barbel fished. Exactly the same as most fish the Severn and...
Hi gents,
I have a trip to France approaching with my son therefore I'm in need of a 4th alarm.
I'm after an ATTX Underlit if anyone has one spare they would be willing to part with, any colour.
Thanks
Lewis
Get yourself to fiskerton and buy your ticket in advance online for Notts Piscatorials (cheaper online and you don't have to wait for the post office to open 😉)
The top end of the stretch is a bit of a walk so travel light or take a barrow (I do both depending on how I plan fishing)
I'm not a...
Brilliant bit of kit!
When I saw Korda release it, straight away I could see it would be ideal for river angling on short sessions.
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned having one.
Thanks
Lewis
A friend of mine has been using about a year, he's caught some exceptional fish from a number fo tricky waters.
I had a look at it a few weeks ago when I last saw him and it certainly ticks all the boxes.
Thanks
Lewis
Afternoon Gents,
https://www.davedogpublications.co.uk/products/the-river-trent-book
My mum has bought me the above River Trent book for Xmas, somehow she ordered 2 and therefore has a spare.
It's brand new, not even been out for the packaging.
£40 plus postage
Thanks
Lewis
Hi Peter,
The hookbaits are going in for 20-30 seconds and the sausages go in for 40 seconds. I'll then air dry them on a rack for 24 hours at room temp then freeze.
I've been using them exclusively for almost a month on a stretch, baiting little and often and fishing paste stringers with a...
Same here, 20lb braid section to 15lb flouro and whatever size hook is suitable to the bait/conditions with a simple knotkess knot.
Never failed me, catches plenty, simple and effective
Thanks
Lewis
