Agreed Terry but it doesn't take away from the fact that damage can be done by keeping fish out of water for prolonged periods, often for selfish egotistical reasons. I don't know of any research that has looked at how much damage can happen to a fish or how long it needs to be out of the water...
Maximum weight quoted for the breed on your link is 10kg, the video animal looks heavier and bigger than that, 10kg really isn't that heavy my Bull Terrier is not the biggest but weighs in at 28 kgs.
When cooking the tares put a small amount of bicarb in with them it will turn them darker, also when cooking keep checking them as its easy to overcook them making them to soft.
It looks as though the shad was just a front for removal of the weir, the EAs contribution to its removal come from its flood defence budget, says it all for me.

If that fish is what the claimed weight says the captor must be a very big bloke, its a nice fish but nowhere near the claimed weight.
With a product that is produced in such huge numbers I would imagine that every hook cannot be checked for quality, I have used these hooks for a while changing to them after Mustad stopped producing the hook I had used for years, so far I have had no problems with them.
I saw that Rhys and it sounds wonderful doesn't it? unfortunately imo it PR rubbish aimed at a none angling public who know very little about the riverine environment and if the truth were told care even less, how many of the public reading that would realise that one of the endangered species...
