Not really Paul but that's life I only have one more thing to say on this subject and that is that you have once again misinterpreted part of my post or read something into it that was not there, it is the highlighted part of your post. I have never said what you have posted and to be honest I...
As you have asked for an explanation out of respect I will try to give you one but I doubt very much if it will be what you wanted to hear.
I have over the years seen indigenous and none indigenous creatures get into our waterways none imo (that's the important bit its only my opinion) have...
I am old enough to remember barbel being introduced into some rivers and yes they did have an impact on other species, should all none indigenous species of fish bird or mammal be got rid of because they were introduced, good luck with that, lets get rid of all the sheep in this country after...
On your first point then if its not definitive it is a risk, a risk I would rather not see be taken.
Your second point seeks to put words into my mouth, please do not do that, if you think that studies and trial results are not affected by those carrying them out or by who is paying for them...
Joe I think the words "should" and "suggest" are enough for me personally to be against the intended reintroductions, trial yes but we all know that the results of these trials depend on who is involved in them and their personal views.
How about we cover all species with a closed season from 31st December to 1st September :)
Its unfortunate that some anglers selfishness and some clubs/ day ticket refusal to close rivers is affecting fish stocks, clubs I don't understand as most ime will have joined and paid for their...
At a time when the EA are intent on removing all obstacles to fish passage on rivers why are beavers that will build dams that will also affect fish passage being allowed? imo Beaver are just the next big thing for those false ecologists, one has to wonder how many involved in this possible...
Does it say what is being monitored? the weather is still very warm with hardly any rain I don't see how they can justify allowing coarse angling on their waters. Is the river changing day to day?
Jail for the directors of companies that pollute is imo the only answer, fines are passed on to customers and there is little if any effect on those responsible.
Because they can get away with it that's why, if I was cynical it would make me think that those in power had something to gain from not prosecuting those responsible as imo the buck should stop with the directors.
Its likely that if Gerry is correct about the size of the fish that were taken that they were females with the follow on loss of any recruitment that would have come from them.
If the Pike were over 35cm they were breaking the law.
Its no surprise that the EA couldn't/wouldn't attend, licence fees have risen and anglers get a poorer service, maybe you should have phoned the police as advised by the Angling Trust but from experience I doubt you would have got a...
I watched some of the first episode before turning it off, I didn't expect a programme just about fishing that would be to much to ask from the BBC but I just didn't like this programme, wont be viewing any more.
