I have ordered a spare from them this morning after reading that the ratchet spring is a weak point on them, they cost £3 each........... I found an alternative phone number to their 0871 number as I hate being ripped off by companies making money out of me phoning them, its 01874 612600.

Whatever anyone mixes in as an additive to a bait might not make the bait any more attractive to the fish although there are plenty of examples of where additives have made a difference, what it can do is give an angler more confidence in the bait and that's imo important.

When I was a kid we looked forward to weekly trips with a club to rivers, we learned from the older anglers how to fish them, it doesn't happen now as clubs don't run trips to rivers because of the state they are in, instead its commercials they go to and so kids don't learn the joys a river can...
IMO the state of our rivers might have something to do with that as it has for the dwindling numbers of older anglers no longer fishing them who would have historically taken youngsters with them.
The gain in popularity of commercials has imo been running parallel to the decline in the state...
Always someone ready to tell others they are fishing in the wrong way, wrong rod, wrong............... best of all is being told "you wont catch a lot here" keep things quiet and they continue to think it ;) how anyone should fish is just an opinion and that doesn't make them right.
Each to their own, everyone fishes how they want as far as I am concerned, I have only ever hooked 2 fish at the same time which is considering the years I have fished with 2 rods or more a rare happening and not one that I would worry about happening again.
While bass stocks are definately struggling for anglers to blame just commercial bass fishers for the situation is somewhat hypocritical.
According to figures used by the Angling Trust in 2012 anglers caught and kept between 230 and 440 tonnes of bass not an inconsiderable amount considering...
