That is exactly the kind of thing that i have had to endure this last summer. Sometimes it would pay to be as invisible to Joe as to the fish. All it takes is a capture at a bad time or a picture in a weekly and good bye barbel. I get the feeling that say, on a narrow stretch of river, a fish...

Why? Because it might make enough difference on a pressured stretch when sometimes the fish can see you. I think you are having a laugh with the black net bit?:) Im not allowed out alone at night so a black net will not help my fishing....:)

I totally agree Ian. It is just sometimes almost impossible to stay below the skyline when casting or baiting though.

Thanks for the link Ash. That is a bit more than i was looking for TBH. I think the mesh route would help to enable a recast/rebait without the dreaded skylining of everything. Maybe i am taking it a bit too serious for my first season after whiskery wonders!

Hi All, Has anybody successfully used a camouflaged mesh or netting for fishing purposes recently and what type did you use/buy? I was thinking that i might try it (or go and visit the shrink), as i am keen at trying to prevent my presence being known. Nothing illegal i might add. Cheers...

Hi, been a Diawa sensor fan for a few years now. I like the dark colour on some bottom substrates, it is cheap and reliable. Today however, i have just bought some Riverge Reel Soft in 10lb and nearly fell flat on my back when i paid at the till - £22.99 for 250m! Is this stuff any good? I hope...

Mr Frisby, i have no intention of condemning you or suggesting that you intentionally foul hook fish.:) Although i do believe that if 25% of any other species was foul hooked it would be frowned upon and like you have suggested an alternative presentation would be used. Did your solution solve...

Those are the kind of numbers i mean Mr Frisby. In any other 'discipline' of our sport that would be deemed unsporting. I like your suggestion of laying on a bit more but i imagine that would not prevent it unless you held the hook still?

If you were to foul hook a disproportionate number of barbel would you alter your tactics? Cheers, Jules

That is on the steep side Jerry. I would be hugely embarrassed to charge £500 for a few hours 'guiding' in bleakest february even if i was God let alone a fishing personality. £500, that is roughly a day out on a boat around a Mexican coast after billfish in glorious weather.......i know...
