Are any members planning to attend? Perhaps it would be an ideal opportunity for club member's to meet, support a good cause. Seems to start at/near Vauxhall tube station and easy to congregate somewhere near.
is anyone suggesting a meeting of BFW contingent who live within reach?. Its a serious subject of course and short notice to organize a beano but I am sure a sister Anna would be found. Meeting point to be suggested. Anyone interested?
Difficult to argue against you Neil. At the risk of being called names, I seriously question the adequacy of our water treatment plants to deal with the levels of current throughput compared to their design capacity. Hopefully there are those on this site with knowledge on the subject. In the...
Little wonder perhaps you became confused. I would too if I knew what you said, could spell it and understand the theory. I had enough trouble with relativity pre my divorce.
As good a recommendation as anyone could possibly ask for. I fancy it but no nice rivers to fish and no money . The second I hope to remedy fairly shortly but the first means moving home so makes that out too.
I am envious. But like you question interchangeably. I had a shim x7 Great rod with 3 full size top sections, not just quiver tips. Kept wondering how much money I was leaving at home. But again, flexibility is a costly luxury so just enjoy the rod. I will when I get one. Looking for an...
Never understood why people sell dirty rods. Can't be rocket science to clean. On ebay "nice condition' can be anything from disgustingly dirty to clean.
Thanks to all who mentioned the x gum. It's not the actual thing which creates squeeze ready but I will experiment more. But as you say Stephen, added to paste mix, it is a revelation. I am trying it with various liquids/ dyes, even with floating, ie cork balls and am confident I am not...
The only handles of late Richard which I have seen which compares well to the diawa is, amazingly, the middy quatrix feeder, nicely tipped both ends with a bit of burl. I will put a pic up this morning. Not quite the arm lock but similar.
one day I hope to catch a fish which talks English. I plan to ask it (her/him or as appropriate in the fish world) so many questions. Until then that's the beauty, mystery or whatever, of what we do and love.
I clean them in the bathroom sink when the RSM is out. Its the perfect size for handles leant across the top. Soap is usually all it takes with a nail brush but its amazing what comes out of used rods I have bought which look jaded. A brown sludge almost sometimes.
Just checked Tim. No it was to be removed although I left it on for ages. Felt warm and soft. And easily cleanable ofcourse. When I was young we used to have cricket bats covered with what was known as pig skin. Don't know if it was but the Hardy material reminded me of that, but it was so very...
I bought a new marksman bomb ultralite. The covering on the handle was a thick maleable opaque material. Not plastic in the accepted sense or as I have seen on other rods. I kept a piece as it was so unusual. Shrink wrapped but very thick, .maybe 2mm thick but soft and spongy almost. It was...
I bought some brummer cork stopper a few years ago. That stopped up holes in used older rods I had then. A light sand and it was fine and mucky hands covered with ground bait soon seemed to blend the light colour.
