It was caught on the members section.
I did a full season on fishers green River Lea. Afew years ago
I concentrated most of my efforts in the upper most swims not too far from where kw members section ends. It’s a beautiful section with a lovely set of fast S bends and stacks of features to...
I don’t know how hard it is to get in but yes potentially you could catch record breaking barbel on one of their waters because they have the fishers green consortium which is just a short walk down from kings weir stretch where the current record is held.
It’s a hard water. Barbel are massive...
What’s the reason Huanzhou that makes the avenger that much better than the acolyte for you?
As we know the acolyte specimen is lighter, comes in 4 dedicated lengths for a start
In general I like to try out the latest thing but quite often the hype can sometimes be bigger than the actual experience.
Acolytes certainly are not old hat but when theres talk of new normarks being released, that is going to create quite a stir and prick a lot of peoples ears up.
until...
Anyone who has the avenger.
How does it compare in action and power to other high end power float rods? What strength of main line would you feel comfortable running up it?
I’ll be looking at a 15ft version if they release one and I was just wondering where it might fit into my fishing. I know...
I really believe you would like the Preston supera X power float at 14ft Jon.
Obviously I can’t say for sure so a waggle would definitely be required as a minimum but it definitely ticks a lot of boxes for you. It’s especially good with sliders and stop knots having the larger bored high stand...
I had the 12ft version some years ago.
What a rod it was. True players waggler float rod and as slim as your little finger. It was awesome for a bit of tenching on the outside of the pads.
Yeah your dead on there, drives me mad when I hear “swam off strong no problem” because this usually only tells you part of the story.
The other part of the story where the guy was practically carrying out cpr for half an hour just to keep it up right often doesn’t get mentioned
In all seriousness for anglers that prefer rear clutch reels with dual handles, my personal favourites are the GTM 3010/4010 reels. They never bettered these with the newer models of rear drag match reels imo.
For 1 they gave them a bearing on both sides of the main gear
This was downgraded...
I’m not really convinced competency in the angler makes the situation any better.
If you have to stand in the middle of the river for 20 minutes keeping it upright and taking excessive steps to recover it enough to leave the anglers care on its own accord, then that’s just red flags as far as...
My mrs insisted that we had a bit of colour in the pond but I was very firm on the fact that i didn’t want gold fish or colourful carp or anything like that and it had to be uk native so she came home from the garden centre with 2 tiny golden tench and popped them in.
Made me chuckle because i...
If anyone has one and can’t get on with it or it’s bizarre visual appearance then please let me know with your best price.
It’s the most recent version with the 3 handles and dual check pawl that i would like.
Must be the 4.5” version
Must be the black one
Preferably I’d like it to come with...
8 weeks since the first of my 15 fish went in.
We had 1 fatality early on. A tiny perch just didn’t make it for whatever reason I don’t know but everything else is growing really rapidly. At least 1-2 inches in length has been gained on the majority of them
I’m a bit lost with it too Chris.
A couple of question marks wouldn’t have got a reply from me either as generally you would put an actual question before them
It’s a difficult rod to value because the length of it doesn’t appeal to a lot of float anglers despite it being the most expensive in the range when it was available.
I would have no problem paying good money for a clean one because I like long rods and I’m quite partial to the spectron M2’s...
