    'Nuts' for Carp?

Better to seek forgiveness than asking for permission? Besides you have a solid argument in that they are not a nut 😊

    A new Carp lake.

And to think I sold all my carp gear in 1997 because I thought it was getting too commercialised.

    Youngs Pin ratchet spring

I took the spring out and it was twisted slightly, bent it back into shape , there was also some crud behind the fulcrum point were it slides up and down with the spring, that probably wasn’t helping either. I might order another spring to be on the safe side . Thanks for the offer Rich but I...

    Youngs Pin ratchet spring

The ratchet spring on my Youngs S/L pin is coming adrift onto the backplate all the time , can’t see a way of adjusting it , I generally push it back on the pawl with some forceps from the outside , but it’s getting a pain now Ends up like this … Then I push it back on ending up like this...

    Best waders

I’ve a pair Simms G3 waist waders , had them around 15 years now , expensive at the time but they’ve lasted and don’t leak , like wearing a pair of heavy jeans, I can walk for miles in them and forget I’m wearing them . Also have the Simms guide boot to go with them and there the same ...

    Custom rod builders

I used Dave Lumb last year for a pair of Chimera 3s , I live in Leeds and spent the 90mins to go and pick them up Great to deal with and does an excellent job 👍

Bit of fun... What's everyone's preferred boilie of choice

I used Grange in 1995 , got it straight from Mainlines factory at the time , great bait ! Although never used it for Barbel

Bit of fun... What's everyone's preferred boilie of choice

Not sure I’ll use another off the shelf boilie for barbel , just make my own now , I find it’s more effective and cheaper, plus I vary flavours and levels depending on venue. Size and shape also infinitely variable. It’s a win win for me .

    Baiting/feeding strategy

I’ve tried all three methods and still haven’t come to any conclusion, in fact I was fishing last night and read Richard’s post so tried a double 16mm boilie which almost instantly produced a nice chub ! 🤣 I’d had a small barbel on a single boille an hour earlier. But for a 2-4 hour session I’d...

    Drennan Specialist landing Net 32"

I had the plastic spreader block break on my TB 36” net , informed TB and they sent a new alloy block out , I paid the difference in £ but I’d still recommend it

    Small river barbel rod

I thought it was Tiger ?! But it applies to fishing just as much as golf 😎 Oh and talking of Trefor I know where one of his rods is for sale if the OP is interested ? As he’s fishing the Nidd it will be local to him

    Small river barbel rod

I have the 11ft Torrix 2.0 that I use on the Y Derwent , very similar to the Nidd , it’s perfect , stopped doubles in there tracks caught a rod length out

    loop to loop.

This is why I use an adjusta stop instead of a swivel , your hook link is whatever length you want it be and is easily adjustable, plus your not wasting expensive hook link material , with just a short length of braid , I usually use an allbright knot instead of loop to to loop but they both...

    loop to loop.

I was using loop to loop method these past few weeks as I had a few hook links tied with a loop ( figure of 8) , I fish the mainline straight through with a short piece of braid (around 4-5 inch ) at the end , feeder/ lead is stopped by a enterprise adjusta stop .

    Info on shimano bait runners

Yeah I have been looking at them , wondering how the service was . A Thunnus went on eBay for around £230 the other week , so Fishernator are much cheaper
