I’ve never had a problem with #10 wide gape , hook pulls are very rare and most hook holds require forceps for removal, I’ve caught literally hundreds of barbel and chub with no issues.
Don’t remember saying the thread was pointless , I just find it bemusing that one user would say a certain boot is warm in minus conditions and another say it’s not so warm . ( maybe wearing a certain sock helped ?)

I love it ! But I bought it for some really tight swims I fish , I read your review and took on the criticisms but i use it without the centre pole and 36” avid storm poles , I already have a 50” Korum graphite which I can use in bigger swims , although I find the 44” Drennan plenty big enough...
Very happy with my 4000 OCs on a pair of 11ft Torrixs all though I know Okumas have a big following on here

I have the Korum graphite and it’s great for swims were it’s fits in without taking all the real estate up, ( I fitted storm caps with the help of the this forum )
but recently I was having trouble getting the thing erected then not being able to move around in the swim or simply fishing in...
Various knots ?
I tie one allbright knot , which I can do in my sleep , it’s a foolproof system that’s never let me down
I could do the loop thing but I just think this looks neater and I have one less knot
Like I said , I use a short piece of braid 4-6” , tie on hook with knotless knot , tie braid to mainline with an all bright knot and that’s it !
bank tackle hooks are cheap enough to replace as and when , your only using a short piece of braid that gets binned
