can't say about 1.5/1.75. I have 1.5/2lb. The only thing wrong is that the quiver tips fit the heavier 2lb top. If you wish to use a light quiver you usually want a lighter rod. Other than that rings could be a bit bigger to deal with weed in the summer
Don't go fly fishing myself but a friend many year ago used to use a wide drum speedia when fishing Hanningfield presumably with large lure type flies. His fish always tasted good
