    One man's mission.

In fairness, he was back home before she went to bed.

    Starlight holders

I normally have a MEDIUM one towards the rod tip and a LARGE one a foot below it. This is an image of x2 LARGE ones on a 1.75LB Greys Prodigy rod (as I’ve run out of MEDIUM sized ones).

    High backed chair options

Thanks for all the feedback. Was looking at the Trakker recliner but it’s getting on for £200 which I think is a bit much for what I’ll need it for. I eventually went for the Sonik Bank-Tek Recliner for £72 which I picked up this morning. It appears to be very comfortable, had a nice high...

    Starlight holders

I use these and they are excellent. Can easily get 36-hours out of them too. I have the proper Drennan Isotopes but hardly use them anymore.

    Ray Walton rolling pin

Keep an eye on the JW Young website. I bought one on Boxing Day ‘23 as they had 20% off (£90) everything.

    Gardner hydro tuff

I just re-spooled both reels with 12lb Hydro Tuff and am impressed with it already. I got snagged up only once and had a hell of job breaking free (10lb flouro with a figure of 8 loop knot).

    Baits for new season

I fished opening day this season with caster / hemp feed and casters on the hair. It was low and clear and I though a natural bait would be right bearing in mind they hadn’t seen a pellet / boilie in three months. I didn’t have a single bite. I then put on my faithful Hinders Elips ( 2...

    High backed chair options

Is this the one with the clip on bag on the side ? They look to get good reviews.

Not a good start (snapped rod)

Cheers for all the comments and house insurance suggestions. I’m going to reach out to the builder as hoping reel set / rings / handle / top and butt cap can all be reused on a new rod. Then all I need to pay for is blank / labour.

Tight lines for new season everyone

May head to the W-Avon first thing for a few hours. Conditions look good.

Not a good start (snapped rod)

Was in garage last night buried some ceiling rod storage and stopped for the Euros first game. In there this morning and moved rod bag to look for something. Rod slipped out, caught my 2 tonne worktop vice (not secured) with the line and the rod fell to the floor with the vice falling 4ft on...

    High backed chair options

Am doing a few more overnighted this season and whilst I love my Fox Ultralite it has zero neck support for longer sessions. Anyone got any further options to add to the following list please around £100: JRC Defender II Relaxa Recliner Arm Chair Sonik Bank-TEK Recliner Armchair

Weed cutter with bank stick screw fitment

The is is the one I got in the end, dropped thru the letter box this morning.

    Angling crossroads.

Try to find stretches of rivers that have weekly club matches. You will find that they have secure wooden pegs and that most of the difficult pegs will be kept tidy / steps cut in to allow easy access for the match anglers. You’ll likely struggle to fish on a Saturday (matches) but if you’re...

Weed cutter with bank stick screw fitment

Thanks for the feedback all. I’ve gone with the Leeda one as it looks pretty solids

    Making your own bait.

I do this but as a large square block.

Weed cutter with bank stick screw fitment

Has anyone used this Dinsmore weed cutters at all please and can recommend them or any other brands ? Also, any idea if them come with a protective cover at all as don’t really fancy chopping a finger off whilst rooting around for one in my rod bag !!!

Have a look at the Fox Duralite. No carry strap but can be easily clipped onto a rucksack.
