Yeah some of the swims are a bit dodgy. I thought Woody was super helpful. He got my phone, opened up Google maps and “pinned” exactly where to park and which swims to try and how far out to cast.

Not a single Barbel on the W.Avon although I have only done x6 trips and conditions haven’t been ideal. Had some lovely Chub though on the pin.

Look at a Ray Walton 11ft rod. You can get them used for about £90 on eBay. Awesome rod with a lovely action and perfect for regular reels and pins (my preference) alike.
