I replaced the ones on mine, fairly simple with a lighter & some hot melt.

If it is an original grey rod with black whippings in good condition the id say you saved yourself about £60 or £70 quid Absolutely cracking rods, superseded by the very similar Duo twin top rods

You probably did, as the new versions were out by then, a tackle dealers were allowed to discount them as out of date stock
