    Moon phase calender

I was hoping you might detail how you came to the conclusion that there is nothing in moon phases worth pursuing in relation to angling?

    Moon phase calender

Thankyou Anthony, I did see this. Would be ideal if this were available. Fish don't respond to moon phases Neil, do tell.

    Moon phase calender

Thanks for the replies gents. Wanted to get hold of the moon strike one if I could. Looks like it may not still be going but would be glad to be corrected.

    Moon phase calender

Hello all. I seem to remember a guy doing moon phase calenders, I think it may have been called moon strike by a barbel angler called Chris.....? Does anyone know if he still does them and direct in the right place to look. Ta

Sad news....is this the same Steve from Here?

Bizarrely I didn't meet Steve through fishing but by being recommended by his daughter to do some decorating work for him and his wife.It didn't take long to find out he was also an angler, a mad keen angler like myself and spent long periods talking fishing when I should have been working...

    11' Barbel Rod

Free spirit Barbel tamer 11 ft well worth seeking out, although only 1.5lb test have lots of reserve power in the butt.

    Hair rigs

Never had a problem when using knotless knotted Maxima hooklinks catching Barbel.Although this has been when angling for river carp and not what I'd choose for Barbel. An added bonus of a stiff hair combined with the stiff line exiting the eye at an aggressive angle is that it has excellent hook...

    Don`t just post the catches!!

I do feel like I'd be clogging up the board if I reported everytime I went fishing.Any way I off dangling in a bit,I might report back,I may not :)

    Don`t just post the catches!!

So in conclusion from posting every single detail to not posting at all,I will have peed somebody off.And on the internet aswell, who'd of thunk it.

    Hook sharpener

Has anyone else ever noticed teflon coated hooks never feel as sharp as uncoated hooks?I always take the coating of the point and they feel so much sharper.

    Hook sharpener

Best hooks for staying sharp that I've used are the Atomic range.I've never used anything like them before, the abuse they can take over harsh ground and still remain sharp is untrue.Although not sticky sharp out of the packet they're not far off. What is noticeable when I sharpen them when...

    Hook sharpener

Have never found critical sharpness essential for barbel as it is for carp.If the point turns over it gets replaced. As for hook files the black handled Jag file reigns supreme for me.

    crabtree - quest tomorrow (24/02/13) @ 9.00pm

I think you have to accept that there is never going to be an angling show on TV that is going to be quite to the palette of the angling enthusiast. What I think it did do was show a good face of angling to a non fishing audience.Angling is not exactly the top of the bill when it comes to TV...

    Personal Digital Radios

Another option and one I use is podcasts.Just download the shows on my phone I want to listen to,no interference and nothing extra to carry apart from earphones.Just a thought if you have a smart phone or mp3 player.

    Good chub rod

1.5lb test curve will be fine for chubbing. But have to agree,I do like to go a bit lighter for chub, much more fun.I use super specialist 1.25lb test curve twin tip that comes with with a variety of push in quiver tips. Not sure if they still make these but well worth grabbing hold of if you find...
