I've done so much carp fishing involving alarms over the years that when I fish for other species then I want to immerse myself in other methods to get away from monotony of being sat behind buzzers. There is alot of information missed by not watching the tips, especially on pressured stretches...
My wife after two decades suddenly realised that she doesn't know where I am at any one time when I go fishing and tells me to "what three word" where I am when I get there now. Can't say I always remember to do this but I can be in some remote places alot of the time and she worries if...
I see the price has gone up a bit too on hooks, probably to make the buisness seem more profitable to prospective new owners. Good hooks but price saving is becoming more negligible.
I reckon most places will be quieter than expected. There does seem to be a downward trend in numbers on the bank at any one time which I suspect is cost of living plus the covid influx dwindling away possibly? I'll be lost in Wales somewhere.
I don't need any lessons on how to be even more of an amateur angler 😁. I have seen that one but there is still a big gap in the youtube catalogue for UK centerpin fishing I found but thanks for the nod.
I have been watching centerpin casting techniques on youtube recently and it's all very American/steelhead based which is fine but it would be good to see some UK centered talks on the subject so have subscribed. Good luck

I found the carbon inners flexed too much so that when using buzzer bars that whole setup wobbled like a jelly and twisted like "it was last summer " so I got shot of them. You probably won't be using bars barbel fishing but thought it worth mentioning.
Thanks for the replies, I do appreciate the advice. I will go to the Romsey fair and see if I can't resist something. I have been before and bought my last centerpin from there and almost got bankrupted by a beautiful Barder rod, although looking at todays prices it would have doubled in value...
Maybe they mysteriously weren't there at all which to be fair would have been handy as I
genuinely wanted to run the float through that swim.
It is on my mind that I am not overly careful with tackle. The drying and storying is extra hassle.
I spent a lovely last day of the season romping and chucking a float about. On the slow muddy walk back, I came across a couple of dapper chaps who were fishing with vintage tackle. Whilst I stopped to pass the time of day, one of the guys rod burst into life. I was spell bound by the lovely...
