the only other option is to park at Arley and walk along the river but its abt 20-25 mins to get to the res. Flat walking though.

such a shame Terry, every time I visit it you just sit there and remember the good times ! I did catch 4 last season in 6 or 7 trips but 0 for 1 so far this season.

I have one and been using for about 5 years, works fine. Spare blades readily available too.

I have to say the so called witching hour has never been particularly productive for me albeit a nice time to be on the river. I generally fish 10am to 6pm give or take, just the most convenient time.

I never use them, have tried in the past and found them less effective than pellet and meat for my style of fishing.

meat cubes or 6mm pellets for me

Personally I only use them with the feeder, two pellets drilled on a size 8 hair, no superglue in sight !! They still catch plenty of fish for me. that's the largest bait I use, otherwise I go down to a single 6mm or 4mm when its low clear and hard.

im still using the Hinders with confidence, still work for me.

If you know the fish are in or close to your swim then I'd def go with little or no freebies.

I think your post proves they most likely don’t exist here, wildlife get drawn to human population as there is readily available food source, in which case sightings and evidence would be plentiful. I also think the photo above looks dubious.

Im a pellet fan and I think it outfishes meat most of the time unless the meat os moving, try small pellets when the river is low Neil, works well.
