thanks Chris, fishing is not the priority for this trip but I definitely want to look at some of the rivers and try and grab a couple of hours here and there. Typically we have a ride out each day to explore so it doesn't matter if the base is an hour or so from where the fishing is ?
Hi gents, my wife and I are planning a visit to the North Yorkshire Moors in late September. Any suggestions on a good central place to stay, nice small town with a few good pubs etc, and hopefully within striking distance of a couple of the rivers with a chance of a barbel. Any info...
Alec, Im in Ludlow now until tomorrow morning, can collect it today and bring it back for you ? As Richard says the rod bags are black nylon and they have the model info on the top flap.
Im pretty sure the only float rod is the15', I also have the 11' 1.2lb that Alec mentions, there was also definitely a 1.75 12' barbel rod, beyond that I don't know. the 11' is a super slim blank but its undergunned for barbel even though Ive had quite a few on it, not really sure what its best...
I haven't tried wafters but in all honesty Id be very surprised if they outfished a boilie, pellet or other static bottom bait. Has anyone fished a boilie and then switched to a same flavoured wafter and started catching straight away ?
Mark, I think you are overthinking it, as long as you are using a good quality bait you will catch, if you are not catching then Id say the fish aren't there. Because a water has a low fish density doesn't mean your rigs have to be different imo.
