Kevin, its simple really, there are so few barbel left its not worth the effort unless you just want to sit and admire the surroundings, which I still do.
I also watch match videos (Clive Branson) and I enjoy watching someone fish, not just catch, so for me the longer videos are better than edited highlights. I suppose you could do both ? Keep up the good work Ian.
Hi Keith, Trimpley is a good stretch but its a long walk down a steep hill, the one back is worse ! My personal favourite is Arley as you can fish both banks up and downstream but tbh wherever you go there will be barbel and chub, just keep moving if you are not catching would be my advice...
