    Making your own bait.

True, and I’ll use them no problem. But my OCD means I’ll have to alter the nozzle to get the boilies round.

Nice idea. I'll try that, thanks.

Need to alter the nozzel, as mine rolled slightly oval.

    Making your own bait.

Slight change of tact today. My mate wants pop ups and wafters. We did the pop ups last week. Today is the wafters. I made another batch of my boilies. I now have about 600g of them which could be enough for the sessions on the upper Trent I do. He seemed happy with them.

    Making your own bait.

Looks the biz. 👍 Both my mate and me are pretty much the same, we like things to be right. We've even bought digital calipers so we get the nozzels the correct size. Although the 14mm is .01mm out, so may have to do it again. 👀👀 We’ve also had a 600x600 stainless sheet made to roll out our...

    Making your own bait.

Last season on the upper now that BMAA have altered the paying in date. I wouldn't have bothered this season if they hadn't. Middle and tidal it'll be now.

LOL. Told you. Although in my defence my Carp fishing mate has gone in with it as well, so not all my own doing,...........Honest.

    Spliced tipped float rods.

My spliced tip rods, I've got four of them. Perfect for a 4 x 4 Ultra Lignum stick float. 2.1lb Bayer to a 0.08 hooklength. Running it down the upper Trent is perfect for the size of the silvers in there. If the odd Chub does decide to open it's mouth and have a nibble, just enough power to...

    Normark float rod buyers guide

After reading all the posts on this topic, I'd be interested to actually know what rod my friend has. It could be an early Carbotec. The handle looks the same as a Normark, it has a screw down reel fitting. Not sure about the tip ring, as I haven't had a hold of it. The action of it with a upper...

    Normark float rod buyers guide

Wasn't Geoff Salisbury massively involved with all this Normark/Diamura/Carbotec rod building. My understanding was Diamura, for what ever reason, stopped supplying Normark with their blanks, Geoff then went off and started Carbotec, using the Diamura blank as almost a direct copy of the...

    Making your own bait.

Richard, I'm just winging it at the moment. I've made 2 x 100g batches of boilies, giving me about 80 baits, enough for one or two sessions on the upper Trent. As I only bought a small amount of ingredients to start with, I don't have the luxury of making up a larger amount of my dry ingredients...

    Making your own bait.

Second batch. This time rolled on a mates Gardner rolling table. Worked the mixture a bit too much, started off nice and round but ended up with barrels and a drier mix in the end. Not bad though, and good enough to use. Made the sausages as we went along, rather than all in one go. Think we...

    Making your own bait.

First batch hot out off the pan. Ever so slightly sticky, so a bit more dry ingredients required, but not much. Now drying out in the garage.

I use the Prodigy. I can vouch for them if you can't find any X-flites.

Just out of interest, what was the difference between the X-flite and the Prodigy ??

The worst eBay selling description ever

Interesting. I've had a photo taken off the internet (possibly off here) and used as part of an advert on FB marketplace. The thing is the rods and reels for sale aren't the same as in the picture.
