I gave up my Thatcham ticket a couple of seasons ago and stopped barbel fishing and went back to carping on a local syndicate:eek:
But we have just rejoined a club on the upper Lea;) the barbel are not big but it's great fun.

When you cut the hook make sure you cut it just after the bend then push it right into the boilie it will stay on no problem!! we used to use this method years ago when fishing for carp.
