BFW Donation for a wreath for steve stringer

During past few years Steve was nearly always at the Tree Stump swim on the bend 2nd / 3rd bend upstream from the footpath. NIce spot with a bit of sun. There's a tree planted and plaque for an angler set back near there.

Sad news....is this the same Steve from Here?

My heart fell when I saw that this thread had lept to the top of the page. My sincere and best wishes to his family and friends on such sad news. And to Del and those at the RDAA. The Lower Benyons will be very odd without him, very odd - he was always there and must have loved that place - as...

    Karen Twine research

Yes Ian, Lee, regarding my rant last night, wrong use of the word ‘racist’ and my apologies I stand corrected. I found it hard to read Anthony’s analogy that concluded “immigrants are protected under an EEC directive there are no options for controlling numbers to reduce societal...

    Karen Twine research

It does take all sorts Lee. And yeah Tony I do miss PB and Pete Marshall they would have expressed themselves better; been either more entertaining or informative in the process. Immigration in the uk is irrelevant to the survey and it's not a given that we are all in the same ideological boat...

    Karen Twine research

I like this forum, I liked Paul boote and Peter Marshall but I cannot stand this sort of comment going unnoticed. Look deeper explain yourself better! Or bloody well apologise

    Karen Twine research

Your reply was outrageous and racist and you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking you can explain it away simply by your choice of analogy

Marvellous, somehow turning this report good or bad into some racist rant

    Tackling a new swim

For getting to know a smaller river below the surface, I reckon wondering around rolling a bit of meat is a good way of finding out what's going on... or getting arrested.

    Tackling a new swim

No personal thing against Paul whatsoever. My view is always tempered by the fact I fish smaller rivers like the Kennet and the Loddon rather than the wide flows of the Thames and lower Severn or the Amazon. On the smaller rivers the thought of such a thing here would, well for me, take all the...

    Tackling a new swim

I go fishing to spend time not save it. I can see how it is an advantage to catch fish to have such a thing but that's not the only reason to go fishing surely.

Sad news....is this the same Steve from Here?

A very familiar face on the Lower Benyons, almost a permanent fixture, he tends to fish the same swim for months. Tragic and not looking good.
