What's going to work? Team work!

Are you serious steve? An Anglers alignment with fox hunting? That's about the stupidest suggestion I have ever read on this forum. Lets all shoot ourselves in the foot. Well done new heights

What's going to work? Team work!

The example at the head of the thread might be a good place to start, the river Ribble Long Preston Deeps project. It shows there can be successful outcomes to having dialogues with River Trusts, Natural England, Government, Local council’s and Landowners and yes the RSPB and EA. The Angling...

What's going to work? Team work!

No graham, there is a need to create dialogues to effect change, otherwise it's force or rhetoric Forums have a habit of giving a distorted view - that of those that post the most is not always representive of anything other than that position. Need to look at ways forward I reckon.

What's going to work? Team work!

I know Ian can fight his own battles, but I’d like to reitterate his comment above. The waters Ian looks after are well managed, on a flood plain and I imagine he has much experience of dealing with many of the dimensions that the Ribble project has looked to address. Speaking as an ex member...

What's going to work? Team work!

Andrew, thanks for posting that video. And thanks for the added info Joe. Very interesting and much appreciated. It’s a shame that all the work and callaborations done here has not had the chance of being discussed and looked it any greater depth. I don’t understand what the negativity...

Government gives go ahead for New Cormorant and Goosander Management Plan

I think we have to congratulate the AT for their achievement in making progress to address a specific problem; inland cormorant predation, rather than be sidetracked into a smug, self defeating ney antagonistic verbal masturbation show from nick A and Graham. All they want is an argument and...

Well done AT, reads as real progress achieved as far as I can see.

    Garlic spam at sainsburys

Has anyone actually eaten or know anyone that eats Garlic spam as a, you know, meal? MY mum used to cook spam fritters, I expect that's the most acceptable way of eating it. ANyway I'll distract you fellas for a moment. Lovely clip of Ray Walton and poignantly Fred Crouch on and in the Royalty...

    Thames Valley

This is a really good article and insight into the cause and effect of misguided policy. Predation

Rather than moan about it, there's two prime examples of things that might be addressed with a better awareness of the good environmental work anglers do. A more sympathetic public ear and an appreciation of the fact that protection and balance of what is below the water has a direct...

    Predation

Anglers, clubs and associations do a good deal of conservation and protection work to river environments and are also the first eyes, ears and voice in challenging potential threat and damage to river environments. That's one unsung role we do up and down the country already. Just an idea. A...

    Predation

I think I've said this before, not that I'm the person to set it up, but some sort of national (or royal patronage!?) of a society that was for the preservation of all UK river environments. Not the EA and not the AT (and this in no way is to undermine the AT of which I am a member). The 'RSPR'...
