It's a bit odd for a predator to completely exterminate its prey, makes no sense at all, and when the otter is forced to move on from lack of food available it'll probably come across another ones territory and they're pretty good at killing each other off. They even eat each other's testicals...
Petitions do bugger all. Evidence? The only response you'll get is 'what illegal introductions'. You're better off going after the cormorants, they've done the damage and are invasive.

I've started to fish the Leighton stretch on the Monty ticket so will give them a go up there if they're worth it. Quite intrigued in that Llandinam stretch now as thats a clonker. Not ruddy 5 though! :-)
I use the TF Gear TSI 15ft. You'll need to spend a little more but quite simply its amazing. Super soft tip for silvers and loads of reserve for big fish. Light and balanced. It'll take upto 12-15 lb line I think, just to give you an idea of what it can do.
I'll have a little further dig around for something then. Not too fussed about the waterproofing, just something warm and doesn't feel like you've got one of them sumo suits on.
I've been using the Wychwood Solace Jacket,Bib'n'Brace & Fleece. Great for the winter warmth but I'm finding it a bit bulky now. Whats the ESP like Peter, for warmth and bulk? I move around a lot and a puffy suit is starting to get on my nerves.
