There are also two stretches at Fiskerton on the Trent, tickets can be bought at the village post office.

    Chair legs

No problem Stephen. They’re just sitting here 😁 should they be of any use to anyone else.

    Chair legs

I have a number of old chair legs lying around. The mice got at a pair of chairs and the legs were all that were salvageable. They are all 3/4” or 18mm dia. If they’re of any use you can have a set for the price of postage.

Looks like fishing from this Wednesday

On licences, I renewed mine yesterday and received an email with the numbers on within minutes of paying.

    Leeda icon tripod

I’ve had the Korum one for over 2 years now and never had a problem with it. The plastic locking mechanisms are quite robust.

What’s wrong with sticking the bank stick in at an angle?

    Groundbait in floods?

Down a bit more? We’ve just had nearly 24 hours of continuous rain :( It’s only going in one direction over the weekend.

    Ads ruining the BFW experience.

David, I use an iPad and am browsing advert free using Safari and Ad Blocker Pro.

    Straightening coated braid

I store my rigs on a Korum rig board so they are “bent” two or three times. Although they are misshapen when I remove them from the board I find that they are perfectly straight after the first cast and being exposed to the current for a few minutes.

    Snowed Under with Ludicrous Advertising

The adverts didn’t really bother me but the discussion made me think about it so I downloaded the Ad-blocker pro app for my iPad & iPhone and I am now ad free. I also use the PC version on my desktop.

    Prologic pod issue

What are you actually concerned about Lee? I owned one for a short while but sold it because it was so heavy. That said it was rock solid and I’ve never heard others complain about it, quite the contrary.

    Close Season Retained

Barely 2% of license holders got off their lazy arse and bothered to vote. So yes, technically, that is democracy in action.

    Korum Fast mat

I’ve had mine for over a year now and it’s still super springy. It’s really useful on the sloping banks of the Trent but could probably benefit from a couple of pegging loops as it will slide downhill with a lively fish in it. That said you can put a peg through the spring loops.

Have a look on the Bob Roberts Trent guide.

    Camera with remote

Look on eBay for an old Canon G5. IR remote and flippable screen. It’s not the latest technology but it’s a great old workhorse of a camera.

    Thames club recommendation please

Remember that downstream of Staines there are no club waters and it’s all free fishing, as long as you can legally get to the waters edge. I was a member of Twyford but their stretch of the Thames is not renowned for barbel but it does have some lovely but challenging bits of the Loddon and St...
