Andy, £340 each 🧐 Really, why? I love my Harrison Barbel rods and have just had them refurbished for £188 the pair but £340 for any fishig rod is excessive IMO, Sorry 😏
I use maggots a lot in the winter in clear / cold water conditions and also use boilies on a "sleeper" rod. I don't buy more than two pints at a time generally and they can last a couple of sessions, have a bait fridge which keeps them good for up to a week ;)
Hi Chris
I assume you mean 'Infinity Duo' which has a green and black (ish) camo pattern and is IGFA rated meaning that the specifications are accurate for the BS? The 14lb has a diameter of .27 which is quite low for 14lb BS.
If so, I used it for several seasons in 11lb then 14lb BS and at...
Hi Anthony
Regardless of answers you receive to what is a very subjective question, please drop low diameter as a requirement for whatever your final choice is, as low diameter and abrasion resistance do not go hand in hand 🧐
For the record I use ESP Syncro XT Loaded 15lb BS which I have...
Just curious?
I have been using ESP Syncro XT Loaded for two seasons and love it but I rarely need to do a overhead cast as all my fishing is within 25m so just wondered what your reasons for disliking are?
I recently purchased the Korum graphite shelter and can say it is superb but it is not suitable for those venues where you are perched on a sloping bank. If the river bank is fairly level it is great ;)
Wow guys, all so complicated? I use a Greys deep mesh landing net which has a neat gap in the spreader block.
I simply pull the end of the net through the gap and tuck it through itself, job done ;)
Personally I have never understood the need for a rucksack (of any size) as it just makes carrying other things over your shoulder difficult, preferring instead to carry a small (Lidl special) over the shoulder bag, my chair is a JRC Stealth which is very light and has been fitted with a strap...
And yet in contrast to your experience Alex, most regulars on the Dorset Stour would tell you that it rarely fishes well on a rising river but fishes well once it has levelled off, that said, the tidal is not as much effected by a rising river as the tide raises the level naturally twice a day...
Just purchased one of these, adjusted the position of the storm caps to suit my needs but other than that a brilliant product at (currently on sale) a decent price ;)

Some examples pre lead being added😉they are surprisingly robust but if snagged will come away😉 the left hand one shows the staples used to connect together 😉
I used to fish the river Weser in Germany which presented many of the problems the Trent does but on a bigger scale.
My solution was as a result of my wife loving crafts, she used this product and I immediately saw it's potential...
Hi Danny
Can you possibly provide some photos and information eg age , condition, price including postage or if anywhere near Dorset, location?
Thanks
Keith
I'm not familiar with the Swale but if it's mainly a gravel bottom and not too rocky I would use a running back lead, shorten the hook length to about 12-18" and fish the conditions, i.e. only target Barbel when the conditions are right for them e.g. if coloured water, fish when air pressure is...
