    Low stretch mono

I can't think of a single good reason for using Low Diameter/ Pre Stretched lines for Barbel fishing!! They give no advantage at all but several disadvantages ;) especially in waters with copious weed growth;)

Hi Andy The link takes me to Barbel fishing Accommodation, or am I being a thick old sod? Can't see any mention of Kempsey AA??

    3rb bait

I have used 3 Rivers Rolling baits and have had plenty of Barbel on Vamp (Garlic flavoured) and ASAP which is the fruity fishmeal bait I think you are referring to, which was also brilliant for Chub ;)

    Harrison "Chimera" Specialist No2 12' 1.75lb

Thanks fellers, was asking because I have been selling some rods, reels and Korum luggage for the widow of my deceased friend and whilst other items have sold very quickly, I am yet to get an enquiry on the "Chimera" so just wanted your "learned" opinions ;) 👍

    Korum ruckbag alternative

Hi Steve I am selling a Korum Rucksack/Ruckbag? on behalf of my deceased friends widow. In very good condition (just one small hole on the inside of the main pocket but still perfectly good). would happily take £25 plus postage for it ;)

How do you defreeze the bait quicker?

    Yes it is ;)

How do you defreeze the bait quicker?

Don't worry about it. Most pastes become pliable very soon after being taken out of the freezer and both Boilies and meat can be mounted whilst still semi frozen and defrost very quickly once in the river ;)

Try Gary Allner in Bournemouth who does fantastic work (came 5th in custom build world champs recently) used by most local tackle shops for rod repairs, cant recommend him highly enough. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=gary%20allner%20custom%20rods Gary refurbished my Harrison's last...

Front Drag reels for barbel fishing with no baitrunner......

Although I normally use X Aero baitrunner reels they were both "Locked Up" in yesterdays swim as I had a fallen tree less than 15 mtr downstream 😬 I have no problem with using front drag reels though and have Diawa Emcast Evo reels on my Carp rods but obviously leave them loose and then tweek...

    River Brolly Stress

Personally I wouldn't buy a brolly if I couldn't remove the centre pole ;) I currently use the Korum Graphite Brolly Shelter which is excellent.

"Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" New Series

As usual, the fishing is a backdrop against the obvious friendship and camaraderie between Bob and Paul, most enjoyable watch 😁

    What's the forecast.

Hi Mike Most, if not all weather apps use the Met Office for their forecasts but in my experience (and my job depends on it) XCWeather is by far the best and most comprehensive available.
