Thanks Richard, this concurs with some other opinions on another forum. I'll give it a strip down and clean but I've ordered another bearing before finding out it may just need a clean!

Just got back from a weekend sesh' one of my Okuma INC 6000 has developed a problem with the IAR, as in, it's not now IAR. Are you familiar with these Richard, I believe it to be the bearing.

I have a pair of 10ft 3lb helicals and for the money, they're great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy helicals in the 1.75 or 2.25 The former come with two tops, avon and quiver.

I've recently bought one of these ready for some summer floater fishing and I put one of these on. Without yet using it, it does seem to be silky smooth. I put the qd on in case I put the rod down for baiting up etc and get a quick take.

The problem with that rig in the video is it's asking for a bite off, A pike could take the bait, carry on upstream and bite through the mainline. The bait won't flutter straight out from the sub float, it will hang down in all but the fastest of flows with the subfloat above and the mainline...
