Is it just me? I would have HAD to weigh that Barbel😱 Or do I have a obsession with figures? Cracking fish in lovely condition. Get well soon Bob👍.

You should be able to get maggots for nothing soon as according to the news forecasts this winter we are going to starve/ freeze to death due to the ‘government’. Once my wife has ‘gone’ I have promised her that I will use her body appropriateply to collect my maggots. She seemed pleased to be...
I imagine that 90% of the people who watch have never fished in their lives. It isn’t about fishing really, just a couple of old guys by the waterside who occasionally cast a line. More a nature programme with a little whimsical chat about life in general. I hope Bob is now feeling a little...
If you’ve made up your mind I’m sure you can find good carp fishing for much less than you have quoted. Safety is paramount alongside rivers and lakes. Good luck,

My wife has confirmed that this is indeed me, though I have looked in the mirror and can confirm that it isn’t ( now ). 04/09/79, River Severn, Eardington. Not my very first but of that time.
I still have that smile ( minus a few teeth ) when I land one today.
Happy Days,

Without getting too ‘ political’ , I can’t help but wonder if is time our water companies were nationalised. Whichever way you look at it they are a disgrace. Never mind ruining a lot of our fishing they are simply endangering anybody who enters the river systems which appear to be polluted from...
Yes, the last swim looked amazing, absolutely screamed ’FISH ME’ 🎣. Would love to ‘hook up ‘ ( sorry’) but will just make sure that my knee’s are up to job first. Stay safe Neil and enjoy the river. I will let you know how I get on…..

Well Paul I haven’t given up yet and decided today would be a scouting mission for a few visits to the river when the season starts.
The criteria is thus…..it has to be safe ( well ‘ish’ as nowhere is 100% safe’.)
Access to parking has to be non four by four friendly ( I have a ‘normal saloon’)...
I have never had a dedicated’ fishing wagon’, just drove whatever I was using daily at the time. Once when my Honda Accord Estate was being repaired I used my wife’s Ford Ka to transport me to the Teme. Now , that was a bit of a tight fit! My Toyota Avensis Estate was probably the most...
Hi Paul,
I am in exactly the same position as you ( even down to the Knee replacement! ) . I will surely have the occasional session but ( like yourself ) I am content to have enjoyed the great experiences of the past. Good luck in all you do in the future.
