Last weeks session resulted in one tinca landed and one big un lost, once again my Dad bagged up and showed me how its done with 11 tench to 6.5lb.
Well this week wasnt much different 🤣 i went in the peg my Dad was in last week and he chose a new one.. i had 6 to 5.5lb and he had 12 to 6lb 😂...
I've used them for pellets, base mix ingredients, base mixes, flavours and hydros for the last year or so. Never had a problem, prompt notifications on delivery and always good qaulity. Use with confidence 👍
Had another 4 off motorway on monday, including an old chunky male, biggest being about 5lb this time.
Lost another bigger one to a hook pull 😪, my fault really id not had any signs of a bite for over an hour and with one rod in to rebait I took the opportunity to go for a pee in the bushes...
Thanks Mike, love it when the first visit to a new water goes so well.
I was initially going to go with helicopter rigged mag feeders but after you mentioned it was hit and miss I opted for one rod on inline mag feeder and one on straight lead with a small 12mm krill popup. Lost the 2 tench on...
First visit to motorway pond today, I had two tench and two bream, losing two tench to hook pulls in the lillies (one of which was 7lb+😬).
Biggest tench landed was just over 5lb and biggest bream was 6lb 6oz. Not bad for a first go, lovely lake with plenty of features.
My Dad didnt have a...
To be fair I am happy with what Ive caught so far.
Funny you say that Mike we're making our fist visit there on Monday. What tactics did you employ? I'm tempted to take the waggler rod.
Another session on hawk pond with my Dad earlier in the week, first cast and a lovely tinca was soon im the net!
I was sure it was going to be a great day... alas that was the only action i had other than 2 pike partially destroying my new baiting up feeder 😪😂
Whats the file limit for...
Finally some success, first tenches of the year landed 🥳
Tried another new lake for us on the recently acquired hdaa book. I had 3 tench between 5lb and 6lb 12oz and my Dad had one about 4lb. My first two were caught on the mag feeder with worm and fake mag hookbait, the last and biggest of the...
Blanked on 2 seperate lakes and 3 sessions so far. Wouldnt be so bad if I didn't watch the bloke opposite me pull 15 out upto 6lb in a few hours 😂 Such is life I guess, better luck next time 👍
Used them for a couple seasons now. Usually just tied on a hair, gives the bait more movement and is convenient for changing bait size. Have also used them straight on the shank with wafters and had some success.
I have the 16ft #2 Cadence and would be confident with hit and hold tactics on upto double figure fish.
Ive had 10lb+ carp, 7lb tench and 7lb barbel on mine so far and I was surprised by just how much power the lower section had.
The fish tire themselves out against the action of the rod...
Another vote here for Sticky krill. Can make a nice paste with the active mix too. The krill wafters wrapped in that paste have caught me a lot of fish.
Then there is;
3ft twitch - SG1, Redemption black and lamprey & herring.
Vortex baits - CKO
Will attempt to do this chronologically;
Nidd
Wharfe*
Hull*
Yorkshire Derwent
Trent*
Rye
Yorkshire Ouse
Rothay
Had barbel from the ones bearing an asterisk.
Can't wait to try a few more out, think the Swale, Don, Dearne, Wye and Thames will be next on the list.
You may have seen it already but if you're considering getting it at least hold off till November as they are doing a 14 months for 12 deal, info/code on their FB page.
Not been able to fish it as much as usual myself and catch reports are well down compared to previous years. I've actually...
Headed to the park lake again this morning with a pint pf leftover casters from my a &c canal session on friday. Only had a few hours so seemed like a good opportunity to try a new tactic to combat the weed/hook pulls. If it fails no time or bait wasted. I decided a helicopter rig would allow me...
