I got a pair of 8000D's in the end,I didn't think the 6000's were quite up to the job:D
As for where to fish I think Dr B is right in fishing to features & if you cant hit 70yds when the need arises your limiting your options imo.
A pair of Shimano 3500b baitrunners for sale good condition, one recently serviced by Shimano both with spare spools loaded with 20 lb power pro.
Make me a fair offer for either one or both.
I'm toying with the idea of getting a pair of 6000d's for the Trent this season,
played with one at Eric's & they felt solid..I did look at the Shimmy Big baitrunner long cast:eek: what a beast..mind you not that much bigger than my Daiwa linears.
You obviously use a different post office to me then:D My P.O use proper scales..;)
I've had problems in the past with Digitals (Rapalas) not the most expensive I grant you but for £40 I'd expect a consistent reading, but didn't get one.
In the small group of friends I fish with (all braid users) not one of us has seen any sign of damage to the well over 700 barbel we've caught between us this season.
To me this is the thin end of the wedge..I used to fish commercials & saw some mouth damage (barbless hooks only!)
What next...
I did the "auf wiedersehen pet" thing in the early 80's & the Germans treat us with contempt, they blamed us for all the crime & we had to go out as a group for safety..& we didn't even kill their fish;)
