    river tees

Been a few out Gene from your hunting ground last season. A bit of water this weekend should freshen it up. The pollution was on a small tributary near Eppleby, EA not sure the cause yet.

    Current hot weather

I would think if they have been spawning in the desolate North then they would procreated in the affluent South by now :p

    Goosander

A really good nature program on a few years back, 2010, with Philippa Forrester and her husband called Halycon River Diaries did just that. Charlie James spent a whole night filming an otter trying to kill five ducklings and although Charlie stated he loved otters even he stated they are...

    rod licence prices

Following the debacle regarding online applications I had to ring the EA yesterday to inform them the licenses for myself and son ordered on 26th March have still not arrived. They have reposted them and should hopefully arrive in the next 10 days.

    cc moore meteor

Just bog standard super glue Derek. I find drilling them tends to weaken them but maybe I'm just not very good at it.

    cc moore meteor

Just keep them in a cool dark place. I must admit I prefer to glue them on to the hair rig back to back. I find chub can break them off if drilled but that is just my personal opinion.

    Fish care Antiseptic kits

Seen plenty of evidence on here of anglers using Friar's Balsam on external injuries to fish which certainly seem to make the difference, not to be used for internally though

    New licence, got one yet?

When I spoke to the EA I was told the receipt would still be valid even after 28 days due the problems with issuing the licences.

    New licence, got one yet?

I rang the EA today and was informed that all licenses issued after the 26th March should be issued by next Thursday at the latest. If their system is anything like the HMRC's then it was probably designed on a shoestring budget with no technical support. Here some good news about the EA for a...

    New licence, got one yet?

That reminds me, I paid for mine and sons online 26th March and do not remember them turning up. Think I will get on to them tomorrow though I do have the online receipt.

    Ebay madness

I love Chris' reels but even he admits it's a lot of money unless you are going to use it a lot.

Custom Built Harrison 12' 1.75lb Torrix

A work of art and love the idea of the plug in tips. I was very tempted as a 50th present to myself but SWMBO might have taken offence

I've got the mk2 3500 and it is a lovely reel for the price.

    Fracking Concern

What fracking offers is security of gas supply and hopefully maintain bills at their current high levels. Without we can expect bills to double in the next ten years. Extracting hydrocarbons in the UK is nothing new, check out Wytch Farm in Hampshire or the East Midlands oilfield. Gas has also...
