I tried using a small rig ring but found the braid kept getting cut off by the ring even after trying a few knots. Went back to Gavin's set up and use a little metal putty over the swivel to pin the rig down.

You can't blame the RSPB for otters as the bird life has suffered as much as the fish stocks. We can, however, blame them for a refusal to admit they protected the wromg species when they protected the cormorant when they actually meant the lesser shag
Sounds like a fair system Iain and I believe Prince Albert AS operate a similar system for new waters and work parties, though obviously none of its members will be able to confirm or deny this :p

Like all the others shocked to hear the news and a loss the the fishing world and this forum. I always looked forward to his articles and posts and he will be sadly missed.
