Ray Walton Net
Hello Chris,
you can get them from Nailors Fishing Tackle in Southampton - I have used one for 15 years and it is still as good as new, so cannot recommend them highly enough.
Best Regards,
Simon.
Here's one I found earlier

Just had to vote for the Swale fish - I know from hard experience what an effort the northern rivers require! All great fish though - well done to all!
Hello,
does anyone out there know if the following centrepin reels can be converted to left-hand wind with the line still coming of the bottom of the spool?
Youngs Trudex
Youngs Rapidex
Grice & Young Avon Royal Supreme
Allcocks Match Aerial
All the reels have a ratchet...
Catching fish is, for me, the smallest part of why I want to spend time by a river. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy angling and always set out to give myself the best opportunity to encounter and land the species I am interested in. My point is that it is the being there, the not being at work or...
A lot of boots are on special offer at Glasgow Angling Centre - assuming you need studs check out the link below;

It is very flexible, and used extensively for 1000's of 'Czech-nymph' trout and grayling flies tied on hooks down to a 16. When used in making the latter, the 'spiral-wound' sheet is then covered or 'whipped-over' with 6/0 flytying thread. However I suggest you use the Epoxy-Method (which I...
In a previous post in answer to Conrad Farlow's request for lead wire I pasted in a link to an internet Flying page, they are out of stock, but the link below has it - it is 150% heavier than lead,

Been keeping an eye on this in the press, and found a good link to some recent research on the problem. This has been touched on in some of the other threads, so a dedicated thread might be a good idea. Please check out the link below...
My last visit to the Derwent saw an unusual experience. I was fishing quietly when a homemade boat appeared from upstream of me, the occupant landed nearby and engaged me in conversation. The pike were his favourite eating fish, and there were not so many left in this stretch now. He was also...
Check out the link below - can recommend the 'sticky backed' lead foil, just cut into a thin strip and wind. If you want to be a real perfectionist, you can then coat the lead with a thin layer of clear epoxy resin. The tungsten is a fair bit heavier than the lead if you need a choice of...
Michael,
Good to hear Chris is still guiding, he is a superb communicator and not only knows the water like the back of his hand (absolute first principle of angling) but has no problem with sharing his experience. Shall look forward to seeing his new rods - they will definitely be...
Another great thread, and when its this cold the roving approach is not only covering more water but keeps you warm! Couple of tips I picked up from Ray Walton when I fished the Royalty regularly:
1) Use 30lb green (Whiplash Pro) braid - the rationale...
