I've caught them on a pole, using a "carp" pole, heavy elastic and 0.25 hook links size 8 hooks and lobworm whilst fishing a flooded river for anything that swims, I've never been broken have pulled out of a couple but I can land them faster IMO than with a float rod but not as fast as with my...
Oliver.. If you're feeling a bit naughty.. There's a stretch by the Burton Albion ground that is reserved for caravan residents and says no fishing.. But.. No one off the site fishes hardly and there's a few pegs. Its mostly very shallow and weedy but there are pegs that have been cut out and...
I now mostly fish club waters so would help a fellow member out. As for a stranger, would depend on their attitude and if they wore anything identifying a football team I didn't like ⚽
Fished the Wye twice in a fortnight low clear and sunny both times. 4 Chub to 4lb first time out, had 8 to 5lb yesterday, I've hooked one Barbel each trip. Not a Wye regular though so done know if this regular form. I was fishing the the Creel.
I fish 32lb Berkley Whiplash tied to enough 25lb Fox Camo snag leader to go from the lead to the reel giving me 6 or 7 turns on the reel. I slide a Korum running rig clip on that, then an ESP 8mm buffer bead, followed by a Korum sz8 QC swivel. I know then I'm casting of mono which has better...
For me.. Only one venue ticks your boxes. Collingham, fish all along and other than the top end its park behind your peg. The conveyor area anywhere within 20 pegs of that there's fish but there are fish all along. A mate of mine takes numbers of fish in the 290s its a very angler friendly venue...
Clive it's the River Claine in Poitiers that my cousin says he catches Barbel whilst carping. I believe there are 3 weirs in the one city stretch alone.
Hi gents

Well... I got stitched up on the pegs, the 3 lads I went with colonised the pegs in front of the church, catching odd medium sized barbel and chub, leaving me with with a walk.. I walked downstream and found a swim first peg into the downstream meadow I virtually had to abseil into but with a...
My cousin lives in a town called Poiters and he is a carp angler and he tells me his local river that runs through his city contains lots of Barbel with "odd fish to 5 or 6 kilos, average fish 3 kilo" claims they're a pain when he's fishing for carp
Is it all negotiable with a barrow, carrying my carryall, chair, rod sling, bait bag full of bait, drinks and lunch is far too much to be carrying these days, what's the longest walk
Have been invited there next Tuesday for a day, any info ? Is it any good, do the fish run big or is it shoals of splashers, any known favoured swims tactics and bait.
