    Base mixes, liquid flavours and additives.

    I've been using a base mix this season which was first opened 2 years ago I'll be using the last of it up in March when I'll probably be fishing next,and the bait has been successful for me on a very hard and lightly fished stretch of river,as for the additives imo they should last indefinitely.

    Agree with you about the set up,I don't know how many years I've had my I-power it's still the first go to rod when I fish.

    advice for a newbie

    Not all are secretive,there's a well known top barbel angler lives in ringwood who has helped me out in previous years when I've struggled,in fact put me on a swim where I went on to catch my old PB he was as happy as me,l know he's helped others out as well.

    Pellets

    Agreed Bob the original BFW Elips were the best pellets I've used by a country mile,countless times I stood and watched barbel tearing at the river bed grubbing about for those pellets,it seemed like a instant response to them.
