I had a Shimano Technium Specialist rod and use the avon top due to the loss of the quiver tip carrier section
My question is that I now have a number of tips for the rod which I can't use, what rods take the small guide large diameter tips?
Hoping to buy a feeder rod I can use the...
they are ok if you can prop the back on something, if not I just end up in a strange folded position as the more you lean back the more your thighs are lifted.
Good for leaning against a tree or cut out in the bank but to be honest my small unhooking mat is the best seat for roving
Guys
Please don't turn this thread into a battle ground, there is too much of that on forums.
Mark
Please don't make assumptions and state what I have written is cr*p
dont know where you`ve heard this but its complete cr*p, all the sections controlled by P&DAA are some of the most...
The Great Ouse is no longer great, most of the prolific stretches are void of all but a few small chub, Bream and Crayfish, be it from poaching by man or feeding by Otters, Mink or Cormarants the river is a sad empty waterway with little to attract anglers except numerous blank days &...
I have had enough of sitting on the banks of the Great Ouse in Bedfordshire watching the Otters feed while I blank.
Im based in Northamptonshire and am looking for a river/club that gives me a reasonable chance of catching a few barbel and chub during a day session or an afternoon into night if...
Thanks guys I appreciate the replies and your help, the only down side is that on paper I don't have any gaps in my rod collection now, however I'm sure "want" and "need" will battle it out and end up with me getting new rods and of course new reels too:D
Richard, I did try to bend the rod to 90 degrees as suggested but without a jig and sighting lines its very subjective as to what the rod is.
Thanks Simon I was hoping to hear from somebody who may have bought some when they first came out, Im still waiting on Harrison replying to my email but...
I have a pair of Harrison built Chimera Specialist rods I use during the summer months and although not marked I have always thought them to be about 1.5lb test curve.
I bought these many years ago before the rods kicked off in a big way and started being numbered versions i.e. Specialist no 1...
I have a Jake's rake with removable stock and screw thread a great rake and much better and lighter than my home made one. The screw thread is useful for attaching to a landing net handle for margins, shallow runs and pulling the weed up the bank and out of the way at the end of a clearing session
I started my kids on short poles/whips and then progressed to light float rods.
If you go for too short a rod they become difficult to cast and play fish on, the one thing they all loved was a centrepin as it was so simple to use when swinging a float out and playing fish.
10 to 11 foot avon rod...
Wanted - Shimano Technium Specialist rod section or complete rod wanted
I have managed to lose the quiver tip section of my beloved Technium Specialist 12 foot 1 1/4lb TC rod.
It is a 2 section rod with an avon top and a separate quiver tip top with changeable tips.
Please drop me a line if...
