I bought the 2 piece 13ft FS HI-S float rod. If anyone needs a butt section for this rod - I'm your man. nuff said. :-(

This is largely due to the National Trust owning a lot of the rights, and they have a blanket ban on night fishing. Council's leases are often the same. I don't know of any areas allowing night fishing.

If I struck every time it stopped, i'd be getting through several tins a session. Stopping is a good thing....

I use much the same rods listed here. Reel wise I'm happy using a 4000 Shimano stradic or similar... Worth practicing on the Trent to start with - it gets your confidence up.

The prior record which was caught in the Arun and Rother over the years hasn't been seen for a long time now... There's plenty of anglers fishing down there, so safe to assume it's gone - which most the locals would agree with.

There is something about Kevlar in rod blanks that makes them feel that much nicer - don't seem to see it any more. I assume due to price ?
