Funny you should say that Derek but over the years on BFW I consider the majority of members may now come from the Midlands or the North and the number of members from the southern counties appear to be decreasing.
I wonder if that has anything to with the decline of the barbel population on...

Interested in your comment re the QD. I some earlier posts I mentioned possibly getting a new Daiwa 24 3012 QD for trotting for chub roach etc

Graham and Nick for your info I already have a pair of the Stradic 3000S reels which I use for float fishing on lakes paired
with my trusty old Graham Phillips Tench Float rods.
The Stradics have double handles and I fancy a single handle reel for constant...

I always use centrepins when trotting and absolutely love them. However I have recently started fishing a couple of stretches where I am not a good enough caster with a pin to reach the far tree line.
Barbel are not the target fish chub, roach and dace are what I am aiming for.
