    Massive carp

I've always trusted the "Nostril Test".... ....if the fingers in the picture will fit snugly into the nostrils of the captor then the picture is genuine and believable....if however, open head surgery would be the result of said insertion, then the picture aint quite right !!! Paul

Well done Steve Williams on your PB

An oldie but a goodie from the days when bite alarms weren't so sensitive.... ....swap the spools over on the reels of your un suspecting victim and then give the false run signal.....victim runs out half asleep grabs the rod on the alarm that is howling off and can't fathom how the line from...

Is it too warm to fish for barbel

Good question given the conditions that look to be continuing for a while yet. I have fished through similar weather for the Barbel in the past with little or no problems other than turning a nice shade of puce.... ....my usual Barbel fishing is in the deep water of the Lower Severn and cannot...

    How long

In the past I have pondered this very question....I came to the decision that on the river I roved (Lower Teme), I would regularly move and catch fairly frequently plenty of Barbel around the 5-7lb range but if I wanted a bigger specimen I would sit it out and wait - usually for 1 bite that was...

    Boilies

To be fair, Barbel are fairly easy to catch on most baits (boilies included) as they get pre-occupied on feeding, so I wouldn't be spending too much on boilies.... ....concentrate on feeding them without scaring them and they will take just about anything you put in front of them;) If I...
